Return to Munich with a stopover in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, widely known as a winter sports resort.
Originally, Garmisch and Partenkirchen were two independent villages. Although united as a market for over 80 years, there are still two town centers. The sophisticated Garmisch and the traditional Partenkirchen. Even in the traditional costume there are clear differences in color, shape and embroidery. Sometimes, however, even the locals get confused, because while in all of Bavaria you can recognize an unmarried girl by the dirndl apron tied on the left, the Partenkirchen girls do it the other way around. Oh my! Whatever!
